Bonnie Sneed

Dr. Bonnie Borshay Sneed currently is the Director of Choirs at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas. She also is the founder and conductor of Nave Voices, an adult chamber choir of singers from nine states. They made their solo Carnegie Hall performance in 2014 and have toured in Atlanta, Orlando, Dallas, Memphis, Chicago and New Orleans. They are scheduled for Boston in 2017. In 2016 she will be conducting the Region VIII 9-10 choir in Texas.

Dr. Sneed's expertise is in choral conducting and pedagogy, and one of her MCC students was featured as a student conductor for the 2016 TCDA summer conference in San Antonio. Many of her former students are active as teachers and conductors in schools, churches and community choirs. She has taught on the high school and collegiate levels, and in 2013 she was named as one of two Oklahoma Fine Arts Teachers of the Year. Her collegiate choirs have toured much of the Eastern half of the US, and in many major cities in Europe. Most recently, the MCC Choirs toured Prague, Vienna and Budapest in 2016.

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Furman University, Sneed's other degrees are from Southern Methodist and Michigan State University. She is Past Secretary of NCCO, Past R&S Chair for SWACDA Collegiate, and Past Newsletter Editor for Alabama ACDA. She is a member of ACDA, TMEA and NCCO. She is a published arranger/editor with National Music, Colla Voce and Earthsongs, and is currently in the process with Oxford Music for a book concerning the languages of choral music.
